Interviewing for a new job can be extremely nerve-racking, so here are a few tips that can help you feel more prepared and confident:

Do your research

You want to know as much as possible about the salon (who works there, the services they offer, the products they use, etc.) That way, not only will you be super prepared, but it will show that you are really serious about wanting to work THERE, specifically. You also want to make sure this is a salon that you will love, so stalk their website and social media!

Dress the part

While doing your research, look for photos of the stylists in the salon, notice how they’re dressed, and dress similarly for your interview. Of course, make sure your hair and makeup are done nicely. You want to walk into the interview looking like you belong there.

Have your portfolio ready

If you don’t already have a separate Instagram page to display your work, set one up immediately! Make sure it’s up-to-date with your most recent work, so you can show off your skills.

Be confident

It’s all about your personality! Remember, you’re in the service industry at the end of the day, so being friendly, confident and personable is important and will make a great first impression.
